Handmade Holiday

The boys painted christmas cookies this week.

We just make our favorite sugar cookie and decorate with paint brushes.

All of my other crafting this week has been custom knitting orders and a mamas' craft exchange night (which was a great time...the most "shopping" I've done this season) :)

What I hope to get to this week~

these candles

Some homemade paper

and this cabled baglet

  1. Oh, I want to come to your house. I love decorating cut out cookies, that candle is great, and I love homemade paper. Killed a blender making homemade paper once.

  2. You go, lady! I'm feeling so consumed by homemade holidays that I haven't put up any blog posts at all in I'm not even sure how long now. I need to start my Christmas crafting *so much sooner*! Like... January 1st. XP

  3. The painting is such a great idea! We are going to do cookies this week as well.
Your cabled bag is beautiful. Thanks again for sharing.

  4. I can't take credit for the bag--I got that photo from the pattern page... I'll post the photo of mine when I've finished it! :)

    Happy crafting, everyone!

  5. Hi - I tried to link to the candle link and it does not show the procedure. I think I linked to it earlier, but for some reason it will not show up this time. I was trying to find out what you did to attach the wick before pouring in the wax.
I hope I am explaining this properly. Thank you for any help you can give me.

  6. You dip the embroidery thread into the beeswax and lay in as straight as possible on the parchment so that it is stiff. We didn't fasten it but rather stuck it through the tube and held the tip at the top and because it was already stiff from the beeswax coating it stayed straight. :)

    Hope this helps!
I don't have my computer with me (we're on a trip) so I don't have the bookmark for the candle making link...

    1. Thank you so much.......sounds perfect!
