this moment

joining soulemama's {this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

It's amazing how much these photos from the past couple of weeks look so summery. Fall is coming quickly now on our Vermont farmstead.

haying

We finished haying a neighbor's field today...

and filled the barn with sweet smelling hay.

The property is beautiful,

and it's a joy to work the land with friends.

And a joy to photograph them working, too.

and then I got a bit distracted by stone walls. I love stone walls. We don't have any stone walls on our farm, so M and I followed the them around the property.

happy pigs

Adam decided to run the pigs in the sweet corn fields this year. In the past, we've chopped the corn to store for winter. The pigs are loving rooting around and our fields are getting tilled up with pig manure and nitrogen from the corn--perfect for the pigs, perfect for the fields!
